Real Madrid are on their way to win 34th La Liga title
Real Madrid is one of the biggest teams in Europe at the moment. They have been in sublime form in the past few years. They have a rich history when it comes to winning titles. Real have managed to win 13 Uefa champions league titles in total. If we see their domestic record they have won 33 league titles in the Spanish league. They are on their way to win one more.
They are currently at the top of the league with 4 points and credit of all goes to their rivals for losing 6 points in their last four games. Fc Barcelona has not started well after the resumption of football especially their big players like Messi, Suarez, and also their big-money signing Antoine Griezmann. Barca has played 5 games so far since the restart of football in Europe. They have won 2 and have drawn 3 due to which they have lost a total of six points.
When the league restarted after a suspension of three months, Barcelona was on the top of the league with 2 points closing in by Real Madrid. Their first game was against Mallorca that they won comfortably 4-0. The second game for them was against a Leganes that was again won by them in their comfort zone. Then came their first big test against strong opposition in the shape of Sevilla away from home. That was a match in which they struggled a lot from the start till the end. Sevilla never gave Barca a proper chance to settle in the match and that match ended in a goalless meaning that Barca will lose two points. That put them on level terms with Real Madrid but the ball still in Madrid's court even if they win all of their games as Madrid has a better head to head record against them this season.
Fourth game for them was again a very tough game against Athletic Bilbao and no goals were scored until the time when Rakitic entered the field, he scored a goal after a few minutes of his arrival. That was the only goal scored in the match and the match ended in a 1-0 victory for Barca. Their next game was against Celta and we know that they are a side that has always played fantastic football against Barca. In that match, Barca took the lead through Luis Suarez's goal that was soon cut off by Celta's main striker in the 50' minute. Barca again took the lead from the same man in the 67' minute when Luis Suarez scored with an assist by Lionel Messi. Celta again scored the leveler in the last minute from a free-kick that was scored by their talisman Iago Aspas to snatch a point from the jaws of Barcelona.
Their latest game was in their home ground against one of the contenders for the title Atletico Madrid. Barca again started the match with their big-money signing Griezmann sitting on the bench. Defending champions needed to win that game in order to stay in the title race, loss or even a draw would mean that they out of the title race. The first goal of the match was an own goal scored by Diego Costa from a Messi corner. It was soon leveled by a penalty goal scored from Saul after an excellent run by Carasco that forced Vidal to make a foul on him and give an easy penalty. Messi scored the 700th professional goal of his career for both club and country with a beautiful Panenka penalty in the 50th minute of the match. Referee Hernandez Hernandez gave the third penalty of the match in the 66th minute to Atleti this time a foul from Semedo on the same man who won the first one. Saul scored again to level the score to 2-2 and that score continued till the end of the match with no further goals being scored.
That draw of Barca took them 1 point behind Real Madrid who is currently at the top of the league with one game in hand. Los Blancos are in red hot form and are on their way of winning their 34th La Liga title in their history. The form they are in they doesn't look like losing any single game and also their schedule is not a very tough one. Most of their games are against the bottom sides. Their remaining games are against Getafe, Athletic Club, Alaves, Granada, Villarreal, and Leganes. The only tough game for them is against the Athletic club away from home.
