Who will win La Liga title 2019/20? Barcelona or Real Madrid

La Liga is one of the best leagues in the World. This is the only league that has the best competition in terms of ho will win this. In recent years Barcelona has been dominating the league but Real Madrid is never far away from them.

La Liga has arguably the best sides in the World. La Liga sides have always been dominating European titles like the Uefa champions league and the Europa League. Real Madrid has won the Uefa champions league title 13 times and Barca has won it 5 times. One more notable team in the league is from the same city as is Real i.e Atletico Madrid, they have been the finalists of two champions league finals both times losing to their arch-rivals Real Madrid.

This La Liga season has been thrilling so far. This time again Real Madrid and Barcelona are competing on the top for the league title. La Liga was suspended in March due to the pandemic whole World is facing today. Now, after the resumption of the league, there are some teams who are facing some difficulty to adapt to the conditions. The main reason for that is that no supporter is allowed to enter the stadium and that can be confusing for some teams.

Now as the league has resumed we will take a look at the top teams and will analyze who is in a better position to win the league.

Fc Barcelona:

First, we will take a look at the defending champions and the team who has been dominating it for years. They were the defending champions last season is well-meaning that they won the league in 2017-18 season is well. Their best player and the main reason for all that success has been their superstar player and potentially the best player of all times, Lionel Messi who has won the golden boot award 6 times in his career.

Like their arch-rivals have been winning Uefa champions league title year after year they have been winning the domestic titles. Barcelona has won 7 out of the last 10 La Liga titles which is insane if we look at the quality of teams in the league competing with them. Los Blancos have clearly been behind Barca if we consider the recent history of the league.

Barca has a firm hold league cup is well which is names as Copa del Rey. If we see their champions league record they won their last league in 2014/15 season when Neymar was in the team is well. That was a golden era for them as they had Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets in the midfield and Messi, Suarez, and Neymar known as MSN in the attack. Their previous two titles came in 2008/09 and 2010/11 seasons respectively.

In this season the start was very tricky for them. They managed to get only a single point from the first three away games of the season. Their first away game was against Athletic Bilbao which they lost by a narrow margin of 1-0. The rest of the two games were against Granada and Osasuna and even against these small teams, they managed just one point. Esterno Valverde was the coach at that time.

Lionel Messi was also unable for the first few games, but when he came back from injury they picked their pace but for a short period of time only and continued to struggle offensively due to lack of quality strikers in the team. Even with the presence of Suarez and Griezzman team was missing a striker who can link up properly with Messi.

In January 2020 Barca lost the semi-final of Spanish Super Cup 3-2 against Atletico Madrid that led to a change in their coaching staff. Esterno Valverde was replaced by Quique Setien. Setien was considered as the savior of Barcelona but failed to end their offensive problems. Barcelona escaped a humiliation against a lower division side when Griezzman came late and scored a brace to help them go to the next round of Copa del Rey.

If we look at the remaining games for them they have some very tight fixtures compared to Real Madrid. Barcelona still has a game against heavyweight side Atletico Madrid where they are very likely to drop points if we look at there this season's record. Barca has a game against Villareal and also against Celta Vigo.

If we take a look at the number of goals they scored so far in the season they have scored 70 goals in total with an average of 2.25 which is lesser than they had in the previous seasons.

Even after so much difficulty, they are in a good position to defend their title.

Real Madrid:

Real Marid started the season on a real high. They were clearly the better side at the start of the season with their first defeat coming in the 9th match against Mallorca where they failed to find the net and lost the match with a narrow margin of 1-0. Zinedine Zidane was very happy with the performance of his team at the start of the season but then they lost shape and started losing points like Barcelona.

Real Madrid is a team that has been dominating Europe with some extraordinary performances in the recent past. They have won 4 titles out of the last 6 ones. They won the title in 2013/14 against Atletico Madrid where Sergio Ramos scored a goal in the last minute of the match. They in 2015/16 again from their city rivals in a penalty shoot-out. In 2016/17 against Juventus and in 2017/18 against Liverpool.

In all those heroics their main man and leader was Cristiano Ronaldo. Cristiano was the top scorer in every season he played for Real Madrid. He scored more than 300 La Liga goals and is the second leading top scorer in the all-time top scorer list. He is also Real Madrid's leading goal scorer of all time. He moved to Juventus in 2018.

If we see Real Madrid's record in La Liga then we come to see that the last title they won was in 2016/17. They have won 33 titles in total which is the highest for a La Liga club. Real Madrid has not been as good as Barcelona in the domestic trophies like Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup.

This season Real Madrid has scored a total of 59 goals and that number is very less for a team like Real Madrid. Real Madrid had great games after the resumption of La Liga. Their first game was against Eibar that they won 3-1, then against Valencia which Real won 2-0. The third game was against Real Sociedad that Real won 2-1. Real played their 4rth game after the restart and 31st in total against Mallorca that they won 2-0.

At the moment Real Madrid has its destiny in its own hands with Sevilla and Barcelona chasing them. If Real Madrid wins all the remaining 7 games Real Madrid will win the league due to better head to head record against Fc Barcelona this season as we all know that Real won the Classico at home 2-0.

If Real Madrid loses points in any of their games and Barcelona remains steadfast and wins all their games then Barca will win the league.

Our final prediction is that Real Madrid will win all of their remaining games and will eventually lift the title.
