Juventus draws against Atalanta to open the title race again

Cristiano Ronaldo's two brilliant years with Juventus - AS.com

Juventus has been in a great form since they lost to Napoli in the final of the Coppa Italia 2020 in Rome. That disappointment leads to some brilliant football being played by the old lady in the recent past.

Juventus lost their match on Tuesday against Milan away from home. That was a high scoring match where six goals were scored from both the teams out of which 4 were scored by Milan and two by Juventus.

Juve had a game against one of the most entertaining sides of the league and also the highest-scoring side in Italy Atlanta at home. Atalanta before the match was at the third position on the Serie A table and also had scored 85 goals in the league the most by any team in the tournament before the match.

The first goal was scored by the away team in the 16th minute when their main striker Zapata scored a goal with a powerful shot. Juve came back in the second half when Atalanta conceded a penalty in the 55th minute of the match. Cristiano converted that penalty to draw the Juventus level with the away side.

Atalanta again took the lead in the 80th minute of the match and at that point, everyone thought that this will the match-winning lead for the away side. But in the last minute of the match, Muriel was penalized for a handball, and Juve was awarded the second penalty for them in the match. Ronaldo again converted that penalty and scored his 11th penalty goal of the season.

That loss of points may open the league again. Lazio also had a match against Sassuolo yesterday before the game of Juventus but they lost that 1-2 meaning that Juve is 8 points ahead of them even after their loss of points against Atalanta.

Juve still has some very tough games remaining for them like they still have to play Lazio, Roma, and Sassuolo. If Lazio can manage to win against the champions on 19th July away from home than the league will certainly be a very close one.

Uefa has announced the schedule of the champions league where Juventus will play Lyon in the round of 16 ties. Juve lost the first leg away from 1-0 and was unable to score an away goal.

They will be having a close eye on all the league matches and then the will shift all of their focus on the bigger prize.
