Top three players for Real Madrid in 2019/20 season

What the Stats Say — Real Madrid's best 2019/20 line-up so far ...

Real Madrid is one of the best teams in Europe. They have won 33 league titles and 13 European titles in their history. They have been in breathtaking form. Real Madrid started their La Liga season 2019/20 on a high. They lost their first game after playing nine games and on the other hand their arch-rival Fc Barcelona lost their first away game of the season.

This season has been very tricky for a lot of teams due to the unplanned activity happened across the globe that forced everything to stop. Talking about COVD-19 that forced all the countries to stop from playing any kind of sport. La Liga was suspended in March as Spain and Italy were the countries affected by it the most in their region.

La Liga resumed on 11th June where Real Betis faced Sevilla. Real Madrid had their first game against Eibar that they won 3-1 with goals scored from Kroos, Sergio Ramos, and Marcelo. Their second game was against a big team Valencia that they won easily by scoring three goals against them. In that match, Benzema scored a brace and was also the man of the match. The third game was a bit controversial for them against Real Sociedad away from home where the first goal was scored from a penalty kick by their captain Sergio Ramos. Sociedad had a goal disallowed in the 70' minute of the match and from our perspective that was a bit harsh decision on them. Soon after that, Benzema scored a goal at the other end that extended Real's lead to 2-0. The home team pulled one back but was not enough to snatch a point from the Los Blancos.

The fourth match was again at home against the bottom side of Mallorca. Real got past them very easily by scoring two goals which included a stunning free-kick from the captain and the leader of the team Sergio Ramos. Their latest match came against a tricky team from Catalan. Espanyol has always played some good football against Los merengues and the same happened in the latest clash. Both teams put a great show defensively where they were rock solid in defense yet Real broke the deadlock in the 50th minute from a Casemiro goal coming from a beautiful assist by their main striker Karim Benzema. That was the only goal scored in the match.

Here are their best players so far in this season:

1) Karim Benzema:

Real Madrid Real Madrid: Karim Benzema, "Europe's most underrated ...

Karim Benzema is kind of a leader of the Real Madrid attack and also the whole team. He is trying to play the same role which Ronaldo used to play for the team and had played for nine straight years. He used to score more than 50 goals per season. He has scored a total of 300+ La Liga goals and 450 goals in total in 438 games. It is an insane record that is unmatchable of course but if you are consistent and eager enough then you can reach near that standard.

When Ronaldo left the club in 2018, everyone thought that Real Madrid will not be able to score any goals from now on. Ronaldo's exit was a kind of shock for the Real Madrid board and their fans. They searched for some options to replace him but couldn't find the right person to replace them. Also, their mighty coach Zinedine Zidane left them after their win in the champions league final against Liverpool.

Zidane was appointed back as the head coach after the defeat in the round of 16 ties against Ajax. Since then Benzema has not looked back. He has not had any problems with his goal-scoring form which he used to have in the past. He has not just scored goals but also he has been one of the best creative players of the team.

He scored thirty goals last season compared to twelve that he scored in his previous season playing alongside Ronaldo. Zidane is like an injection of motivation and quality for the Frenchman. He was also the top scorer for Real last season.

This season it is the same story as was in the previous season. He has scored 17 La Liga goals out of Real's 60 that they have scored in La Liga so far. This is surely a number less than what they used to score in their previous seasons. He is the top scorer for his team and on the second number in the Pichichi race with Lionel Messi who has 21 league goals in total. Both of them have the same number of games left.

He has surely been one of the best Real Madrid players this season not only due to his goals but also his contributions in the creative plays and also due to his playmaking ability which no striker has posses the way he does. He is also a player in the team who doesn't have any genuine substitute to replace.

If he continues the way he is playing currently then Real Madrid is on their way of winning the league and then in August the bigger title of which they always have been favorites the champions league title.

2) Toni kroos:

Another player who has been consistent throughout the years for Real Madrid is Toni Kroos. He was signed way back in 2014 from Bayern at a normal price according to his standard of the game. He was signed with really high expectations and Di Maria and Xabi Alonso were the two who were sold to make way for James and Kroos respectively. Kroos certainly has proved his worth for the team for which he was signed and has helped a huge role in Real's winning three champions league title in a row. On the other hand, James has been a disappointment so far and Florentino Perez will be feeling shameful that he sold Di Maria to make James's place into the side.

Kroos has scored a total of 19 goals so far in his Real Madrid career but goal scoring is not the best part of his gameplay. He is one of the most creative midfielders in the Wolrd and has given excellent performance throughout his career. He has assisted six times this season.

His season didn't start the way he used to due to his last season's downfall. But gradually, he showed his excellence under the managerial setup of Zinedine Zidane. Kroos has proved to be one of the most important Zinedine Zidane players and outshone Luke Modric in the midfield. Kroos has also been a very important player for his national side is well.

If Real Madrid are to win the La Liga title and after that the title they love the most i.e champions league in August which is being held at a neutral venue. Uefa announced that the neutral venue will be Portugal where all of the remaining games will be played under the same rules and regulations. Real Madrid fans will be hoping for him to play the way he is playing right now and help the team to win their 14th champions league title.

3) Casemiro:

Real Madrid Casemiro: "In two years from now, Fede Valverde will ...
This season is probably the best season ever of the Brazilian midfielder Casemiro. Casemiro was signed in Sao Paulo where he scored 11 goals in his 112 games for them. He was a part of the Real Madrid squad that won the champions league in 2013/14. He was then loaned for a year to Porto Fc so that he can get some more recognition and also some playing time. He came back to Real and helped them win the champions league in the 2015/16 season. Since then he has cemented his place as a defensive midfielder in the team and also has been one of the most vital and consistent players of the team.

This season Real Madrid has depended on his a lot and the proof of this is whenever Casemiro has had a below-average game Real have always lost. The games against Man City, Real Betis, and Levante, and they all resulted in losses for Real. He was one of the main performers against Barcelona as he was the marker of Lionel Messi. He didn't allow Messi to work his magic, and that game resulted in a 2-0 win for the Los Blancos.

One of the biggest complaints against him were about his lack of ability on the ball and do some creative work for the team which Busquets does for Barcelona. This season he has improved his weakness and has been sublime with the possession of the ball. His passing ability has improved this season and has also created more chances then he used to do in the past.

He has also scored some very important goals for his team this season with the latest coming against Espanyol form a beautiful backheel from Benzema. If Real are to win the remaining titles then these players will need to fire till the end.

Honorable mentions:

Real Madrid's season has not just been about these three players. There are some other players who have contributes equally. The first one is their main goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Real Madrid cannot protest penalty decision against Real Betis ...

He has just conceded 21 goals in La Liga this season and has performed massively in huge games like in Classico. He kept clean sheets in both the games against Barcelona. He has improved a lot from the last season and will be a key later in the season for Real.

Real Madrid: The rise of Fede Valverde - AS.com

Fede Valverde is also a name that should be included in the list. The 21 years old Uruguayan has been in the prolific form under Zinedine Zidane. He served one year loan to Deportivo La Coruna. His energy in the field is always apparent for everyone to see. He has become a key member of both defense and attack.

Ferland Mendy Explains Why He Chose to Join Real Madrid Over ...

Also, don't forget Ferland Mendy's contribution to the team this season. He has taken place of Marcelo and has not allowed him to enter the starting 11 in big games. He has been very good for Real in attack and looks smooth while going for attack.
