Real Madrid has played some outstanding football in the recent past that has helped them to top the La Liga table with a differentiable margin.

Real has played nine games since the restart of football in Spain and has managed to win all of them. Benzema has been their top scorer in the whole campaign and surprisingly their second-highest goal scorer is Sergio Ramos who plays in the center-back position.

Los Blancos finished on the third spot last campaign with Barca winning the league with a big margin. This season the situation is very different as Barca has not played their best football and also Real changed their manager at the end of the last campaign and brought Zinedine Zidane back.

Today they have a very tough match against a difficult opponent in the form of Villarreal. It will be a home game for the league leaders and also a must-win game for them. The most interesting fact about that match is If Real Madrid manages to win this game then they will win the league title: A title that they have not been in great form in the past few years.

It will be their 34th La Liga title which is most by any team in the league. The Catalans have won this prestigious title 26 times and is on the number two spot in terms of titles. In the last 10 years, Barcelona has won La Liga 7 times where Real Madrid won it twice and Atletico winning the remaining one.

Fc Barcelona also has a match today and they will face Osasuna. Both the matches will start at the same time and will be played behind closed doors. Barcelona will hope that Villarreal can get something out of the match.

If Los Blancos lose or draws against the away side then it will all come to the last match. Both the teams will then play away from home. Barca will be facing Alaves and Real will be facing Leganes.

But if Los merengues draw both the games then still they will be winning the league assuming that Barca wins both of their remaining games because Real Madrid has a better head to head record this season.

La Liga has a rule that if two teams level on points table till the end of the season then the league winners are decided on the head to head records meaning that who has won the matches that they have played against each other.

And, we know that Real has won the Classico they played on their home and drew the one away from home. So, clearly, they are winning the head to head battle.
