Real Madrid squad and predicted lineup against Real Sociedad

Real Madrid Football and News | Real Madrid CF

Real Madrid has made a grand comeback after the lockdown. It doesn't look like that they haven't played for three months. They won their first game after the restart of the league against Eibar by 3-1 and the second game by 3-0 against Valencia. Both their games were home games. Although no supporter is allowed to enter the stadium but still home ground matters a lot.

Real Madrid has an immensely important game today against Real Sociedad which is a must-win game for them. Barca lost 2 points against Sevilla on Friday night that turned the La Liga destiny of Real Madrid in their own hands. Now, if Real wins all of their remaining games they will win the title.

Zidane in the press conference last night was asked about their match against Real Sociedad and also about how they have performed in the season so far. In response, he said" Real Sociedad is a very strong team. I have watched all of their games so far in the season. I know that they have not performed according to their standard. But they are a team that has the quality to destroy any team on their day." It is also true that Real Sociedad has not been up to standards they have set in the previous seasons. They have had very bad defeats this season from the teams at the bottom of the table.

Real Madrid announced the squad that will travel to Sociedad. Some players are still missing from the squad due to injury. The injury list of Real includes Nacho, Lucas Vasquez, Isco and Luka Jovic. Mariano was also likely to miss but he was included in the squad at the last moment. Full list of real Madrid squad is as follows:

R Madrid 3 - 0 Valencia - Match Report & Highlights

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Areola, Altube

Defender: Carvajal, Marcelo, Mendy, Ramos, Militao, Varane, and Javi Hernandez

Midfielders: Toni kroos, Casemiro, Modric, Fede Valverde, and James Rodriguez.

Attackers: Bale, Benzema, Hazard, Mariano, Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz, Vinicius, and Asensio

This is pretty much the same list with Mariano coming in and Isco going out due to an injury. The addition of Mariano in the squad will be very helpful for Benzema as there is not a proper no 9 after him in the team except Mariano. It will be a huge test for Mariano if Zidane gives him some minutes in this game.

Predicted lineup:

It is hard to predict because Real Madrid has a lot of options in their team in all the positions. It depends upon Zidane now who he wants to play and who not to. But from our knowledge of football, we will predict the team today. Courtois will obviously be the keeper because it is a very tough game and Real Madrid will not take any risk in the match.

In defence, Carvajal will play at the right wing-back and Mendy in the left. Sergio Ramos and Varane will be the two centre backs. It is in the midfield where we can see a change from Zidane. Kroos and Casemiro will play for sure, Modric can sit out and Fede Valverde can take up his place as a central midfielder because Rodrygo can start on the right-wing as he started against Eibar that will force Valverde to go back to his original position as he played on the right wong against Valencia. Attackers will the combination of Hazard and Benzema and there will be a new entry in the shape of Rodrygo.

Final lineup: Courtois, Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Mendy, Kroos, Casemiro, Velverde, Hazard, Rodrygo, and Benzema
