La Liga is one of the biggest leagues in the World. It is the most viewed league of all the league going across Europe. The biggest teams in the competition are Real Madrid and Barcelona. These two clubs have been dominating the league as well as European titles for years.

If we see the recent history of La Liga then we come to know that Fc Barcelona has dominated it in the past few seasons. Barcelona has won seven out of the last ten La Liga titles. And with the quality of teams that are in the competition, this is a great achievement for them. Real Madrid has always challenged them for the title. Atletico Madrid has also entered the race in the last few years.

Real Madrid started their La Liga campaign better than how Barca did. Real lost the first game of the season in their ninth match. Real Madrid has won really important games this season especially the win over Barcelona in the Classico at their home stadium before the suspension of the league. They also won against Atletico 1-0 at home and drew the away game 0-0.

Real Madrid started the league after the resumption of football on a real high. Their first match was against Eibar at home that they won with a score of 3-1. The second match was against Valencia at home again and won 3-0 with a brace from Benzema and a goal from Marco Asensio. The third match was against Real Sociedad away from home and that was a bit controversial match. Real Madrid scored the first goal from a penalty kick scored by Sergio Ramos. Real Sociedad had a goal denied due to a player offside who was blocking Courtois's view while the shot was coming towards him. Real Madrid won that game 2-1 again Benzema scored the second goal of the match.

Their latest match was against Mallorca at home. Real Madrid faced a tough test at the start but managed to take control of the game in the latter parts. Vinicius Jr gave Real Madrid the lead with a beautiful chip over the goalkeeper's head. Soon after that, he hit the crossbar with his second effort of the match and that was also a chip over the goalkeeper. Sergio Ramos scored one of the goals of his career in the second half from a direct free kick. That goal gave Real Madrid a match-winning lead, Real came with a victory over their rivals with 2-0.


That victory took Real Madrid on level terms on points with their arch-rivals Fc Barcelona. Keep that in mind that Real Madrid has a better head to head record in this season as they have drawn the first match at the Camp Nou 0-0 and won the second match at home 2-0 where Vinicius and Mariano were the two goal scorers. La Liga has a rule which says that if two teams get on level terms on points at the end of the season then their head to head battle is checked to decide who will lift the trophy. And in this season it is clearly Real Madrid who has a better record in the head to head.

Barcelona had their match against Celta Vigo last night away from home. Barcelona started the match with 4-4-2 formation. The first goal of the match was scored by Luis Suarez after an assist from a free-kick by their talisman Lionel Messi. Celta leveled quickly in the 50th minute of the match and one of their main strikers scored a goal. Barca again took the lead in the 67th minute of the match with the help of the same combination of Messi and Suarez. Celta scored a late dramatic goal scored by their legendary man Iago Aspas from a direct free kick.

That draw of Barca now puts Real Madrid in the best position to win the league at this time of the season. Barca is currently one point ahead of Real Madrid but Real have a game pending which they will play today away from home against Espanyol. Barca will be hoping from their fellow Catalans to do some favor to them and beat or draw level with Real Madrid so that Barca can have a chance to win the league. At the moment Barca is losing the league if Real win all of their remaining matches. They form in which they are they can very easily do that.
