Cristiano ronaldo is just one goal away from leveling Ferenc Puskas's record

Cristiano Ronaldo is widely considered as one of the greatest footballers ever to enter the football pitch. He has achieved unimaginable records that a normal person can only dream of. He is currently playing in Italy for their current champions Juventus and Portugal National side. He is also the captain of the side.

He has won five Ballon d'Or in his mighty career and is also at the second-highest award achiever with just one behind his arch-rival Lionel Messi. He has also won 4 golden boot awards in his career. He is also one of the few players who have made it to 1000 appearances for club and country in their careers. He has played for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus in his long career. He has scored over 700+ goals in his career. He has set the standards that no one can. He is close to reaching another huge personal milestone.

He is currently at 745 goals in his career and that accounts for all the goals scored in official matches played with the National team in all the age groups and for clubs in all divisions. He is currently one behind the great Ferenc Puskas who is standing at 746 goals in his career. Puskas has achieved that milestone in 754 goals with a ratio of 0.99 goals per game. He has played for Budapest Honvads and Real Madrid for most of his career. He also played for two national teams Hungary and Spain.



If we study about his records he has scored 85 international goals in his 84 appearances for Hungary, he couldn't score any goal in the 4  games he played for Spain National team. He managed to score 380 goals in his 367 appearances for Budapesti( A club in Hungary) and a total of 242 goals in 262 appearances for the Spanish giants Real Madrid. He was one of the leading scorers in his era and with the stats, he has no one ever imagined that someone will ever surpass him from the next era. Brazilian legend Pele was the first one to surpass him. Pele has scored 767 goals for club and country in his spell and is widely regarded as the greatest of all time due to his massive performances for Brazil in the World cups where he helped them win 3 World cup titles.

Man United:

Cristiano Ronaldo began his career for a Portuguese club named as Sporting Lisbon and is still considered a place where Ronaldo was born in footballing terms. He moved to England with Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson signed him soon after Sporting beat united 3-1. Manchester United was certainly the breakthrough for Cristiano. He became the first-ever Portuguese player to get signed for United and his transfer fee at that time was just 12.3 million Euros. He requested number 28 but he got the magical number 7 which was previously worn by the greats like Beckam and Eric Cantona for which he is known as CR7.

He has scored 84 Premier League goals in the six seasons he played at United in 196 matches. He has scored a total of 118 goals in 292 appearances for the club. He also helped them win a champions league title in 2007/08 season. He also won his first Ballon d'Or after the performances he gave in that season and also received the first golden boot of his career. He moved to Real Madrid in 2009 for a world record fee of 80 million pounds.

Real Madrid:

His Real Madrid career was the best spell of his footballing where he conquered the World and achieved almost everything there. The competition for him was far more as his rival Lionel Messi was playing for Fc Barcelona. He scored 50+ goals in almost every season for Real. He scored in his very first official fixture for Real and scored in the next three games he played and became the first player in Real Madrid to score at least a goal in the first four appearances for the club. He was assigned the number 9 in his first season as number 7 was already taken by Raul who after the arrival of Ronaldo just played in one season for Real and then left the club giving number 7 to Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored in his first appearance for Real and continued his scoring form in the next three games that set a new record in Real Madrid history that no player has ever scored in his games for the club. He scored a total of 33 goals in 35 games in that campaign. He managed to play only 35 as he was injured in between the season. In his second season for the club, he netted the ball for more than 50 times and that was the first time he scored 50+ goals in a single season. He scored a total of 54 goals in his 53 appearances that season. In his third and fourth season, he scored 60 and 55 goals respectively. 

He won his first champions league with the club in 2013/14 in which he scored 17 which to date no one has ever managed that and even his biggest rival Lionel Messi. He won his first Ballon d'Or as a Real Madrid player later that year. He also won the Uefa player of the year that season due to his heroics in the champions league. His sixth season at the club was his best one in terms of goals as he scored 61 goals in total out of which 48 came in La Liga that is the second-highest goals ever scored in a single campaign. The first position is held the Barca man Lionel Messi who scored 50 in a single campaign.



In his next three seasons at Real, he helped the Los Blancos to win three consecutive champions league titles. He was the top scorer in all of them. He is also the highest goal scorer in the history of the competition and is known as the Mr champions league. He won a total of four Ballon d'Or awards with Real Madrid and also won the first FIFA men's player of the year award. He is the top scorer in the history of Real Madrid by scoring 450 goals in 438 games. He is the second-leading goal scorer in La Liga just behind the great Messi. He left Real in a shocking move to Italian giants known as the old lady Juventus in July 2018 just after the World Cup.

Juventus:

His stay at Juventus is not that long enough to be analyzed in large phrases. He scored 28 goals in his first campaign for the club in 43 appearances with 21 comping in the league and 6 of them in the champions league. His second has been pretty much better than that of his first season in terms of goals. He has so far scored 23 goals in the league with 10 more games remaining to play for them. He has only managed to score 2 goals in this season's champions league. If Juve is to win the Uefa champions league then he needs to fire more.

It is yet to see whether he scores the goal that will take him ahead of the great Ferenc Puskas. His main target will be to surpass Josef Bican who is at the top with 805 goals.
